FARMINGTON — Police said an alleged San Juan County heroin dealer was arrested Wednesday by Region II Narcotics Task Force and Homeland Security agents.

Arthur Baca, Jr., 25, was arrested by the drug-enforcement task force at his home at 1212 Bramble St. in south Farmington, said Neil Haws, the director of Region II.

Police confiscated a half pound of heroin, 26 prescription pain pills packaged for resale, nine grams of powder cocaine and $3,500 in cash and six firearms from Baca's residence, Haws said.

Haws said a month-long investigation revealed that Baca was the alleged main supplier for local heroin dealers.

Baca was arrested on suspicion of numerous felonies including possession with intent to distribute cocaine and heroin. Because of the large amount of heroin, Haws said the case will be presented to the U.S. Attorneys Office for federal prosecution.
