AZTEC — The city commission will meet Tuesday to vote on a variety of programs, including one ensure the continued funding of projects at the Aztec Municipal Airport. But approval relies on the adoption of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, which will necessitate the city to work in conjunction with WHPacific and future consultants to meet the requirements imposed by the FAA, according to a staff summary report.

Also up for consideration is approval of a nearly $47,000 bill for construction costs for the South Main Gateway Parking Lot & Animas Street Improvements project.

The extensive work includes reconstruction of the corner of Animas Street, a new parking lot for ten regular spaces and one handicap space and street improvements on the curve of Animas Street to ease traffic flow and safety.

Heldover from the city's last meeting is a request for a variance to infrastructure improvements to five-lot Bridlewood subdivision. Lonny Rutherford, who has requested the variance, seeks to develop the land with the city's understanding that the Rutherford and developers meet city code and provide updated reports on the construction's progress.
