FARMINGTON — Andrea Kristina’s Bookstore Kafé in downtown Farmington is closing for good today.

Owner Kolbjorn Lindland posted a note thanking customers and staff for their support.

In an interview, Lindland said he decided to close the store as Christmas approached and employees asked for time off. Book and food and drink sales weren’t enough to keep the business open.

The café’s closing leaves a void in Farmington, where it served as a meeting place downtown. Andrea Kristina’s, 218 W. Main St., opened in 2004.
