ALBUQUERQUE (AP) — A 71-year-old Albuquerque woman who walked miles every day in her neighborhood was killed Monday morning when struck by a vehicle backing out of a driveway.

Police say the driver of the vehicle heard a thud and then found the woman lying on the street.

Police say Loretta Wagy was considered legally blind and deaf and that she used a small baby stroller as a walker as she walked nearly 8 miles daily.
