The ACHE is a professional organization for health care executives, with more than 35,000 members around the world. Wallace will take office at the Council of Regents meeting March 9 in Chicago.
As a regent, Wallace will represent ACHE's New Mexico members.
“I am honored and thrilled to represent New Mexico in this capacity,” Wallace said in a prepared statement. “This is a great opportunity to give voice to health care issues we see in the state.
Wallace has served as president and chief executive of San Juan Regional since 2010.
He also serves on the boards of San Juan County Big Brothers Big Sisters, Four Corners Economic Development Corp. and the New Mexico Hospital Assocation.
