FARMINGTON – A Farmington man was stabbed to death in Las Vegas, N.M. this weekend.

Toby J. Armenta was found dead near an irrigation pond at an apartment complex in Las Vegas. A Las Vegas Police officer found Armenta at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday, according to a police report.

A man he was with, Steve Treiber, was stabbed in the neck, stomach and chest and was transported to Alta Vista Regional Hospital.

Las Vegas police arrested Antoinette Armijo, 39, at 8 p.m. Saturday night while she was driving with her boyfriend, Johnny Montoya, 36.

Police said Armijo admitted during an interview that she stabbed both men in self defense, took the knife and fled the scene.

Armijo was charged with voluntary manslaughter, aggravated battery and tampering with evidence, according to court documents.

Montoya was charged with tampering with evidence.
