BLOOMFIELD — The Bloomfield Police Department will begin charging today for fingerprinting services.

The first set of two cards will cost $5. Each additional card will cost $5.

The fees will help cover costs and time, police officials said.

Fingerprinting is required for some jobs, adoption services and concealed carry permits.

Fingerprinting services in Bloomfield are available Tuesdays from 2-4:30 p.m. at the Police Department, 1110 Rio Vista Drive. No Appointment is necessary.

Additional fingerprinting services are available through other law enforcement agencies in the area.

The Farmington Police Department, 900 Municipal Drive, offers the service on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The first set of two cards costs $5. Each additional card costs $5.

The San Juan County Sheriff's Office offers fingerprinting services at its Kirtland Substation, County Road 6360 No. 6., Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment only. Call 598-0475 to schedule an appointment.

No fingerprinting services are available through the Aztec Police Department at this time.
