FARMINGTON — Police have confirmed that a body pulled from the San Juan River earlier this month is that of a missing Farmington man.

Jim Murray, 52, was last seen on April 17. The landlord of Villa View Apartments, 905 Walnut Drive, reported Murray missing on April 24, according to Farmington police.

The night of Aug. 12, the San Juan County Sheriff's Office was called to the San Juan River near Farmington after someone reported a body in the water. The body floated west of Harper Hill, where it was retrieved, said Beth Utley, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office.

Investigators learned Tuesday that Murray was the body in the river.

Utley said the cause of death hasn't been determined. There is a toxicology report pending, she said.
