FARMINGTON — A man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing another man in the back after he was told to leave a gathering on South Butler Street in Farmington early Friday morning, according to a Farmington police news release.

Marcus Victor, 25, was charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence and criminal damage to property.

Police were called to the 1000 block of South Butler at 12:35 a.m. Victor had been told to leave his cousin's house, and he allegedly started slashing car tires.

Victor told police that several other people at the home "jumped" him, and they started fighting. During the altercation, Victor allegedly stabbed Marcos Montano, 39, in the back.

Montano was taken to the hospital and was treated and released.
