FARMINGTON — One person was killed during a drive by shooting Saturday night on a county road west of Aztec, according to San Juan County Sheriff's Office officials.

Beth Utley, the Sheriff's Office public information officer, said in a press release that 28-year-old Daniel Boone of Aztec was the found by deputies at No. 5 on Country Road 3235 north of Aztec.

Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the scene at 8:47 p.m. Saturday night to respond to phoned in reports of gun shots and screaming coming from the residence.

When the first unit arrived at the residence at 8:51 p.m., they found Boone at the scene.

Capt. Brice Current declined comment on details of the incident, including how many other people were in the residence at the time of the shooting and the status of a sheriff's office search for suspects.

Dispatchers on Saturday night described a white or light blue, four-door car with tinted windows as the vehicle allegedly involved in the shooting.

There were two people reportedly in the vehicle with a female described as well-dressed and a male possibly wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

The investigation is still on-going and officials said information will be released from the Sheriff's Office as it becomes available.
