FARMINGTON — Organizers are needed for two of Farmington's popular Fourth of July celebrations this year.
Freedom Days, scheduled for July 3 to 6, are a series of community-led celebrations that feature brass bands, concerts, parades, ice cream socials and fireworks.
The Electric Lights Parade and Party in the Park, which both take place during Freedom Days, still need leaders, said Tonya Stinson, Farmington Convention and Visitors Bureau executive director.
"We just don't want to see some of these things go away just because we haven't found someone," she said.
Without organizers for these two events, coordinating volunteers is difficult, Stinson said. Also, the parade could be arranged as a fundraiser if an organizer could find a sponsor, she said.
The Electric Lights Parade and Party in the Park are both slated for July 4. The party will be at Brookside Park, and the parade will be that afternoon on Main Street.
Those interested in organizing either event can contact Stinson at 505-326-7602 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
