BLOOMFIELD — The Bloomfield Cemetery Association hopes those who have loved ones buried at the cemetery under "B" Hill will come out this weekend and perform some needed spring cleaning.

"We aren't having a clean-up day. We just wanted to encourage people and family (members who) have loved ones buried at the cemetery to clean up their plots before Memorial Day," said Sue Giovanini, association board member. "This is the time of year that we need people to take time to clean up plots. If you have family or friends buried (there), please make time to clean up the weeds and help maintain the plots. This is the time of year that we need to work together to preserve and care for the upkeep of our cemetery."

The hillside cemetery can be reached by traveling 1/4 mile west of North First Street on Cemetery Road, near the Bloomfield Methodist Church.

If you are unable to send a family representative to work on your plot, you can make a donation of $20 to pay for hired help. Send donations to Bloomfield Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 2396, Bloomfield, NM 87413. For more information, email Giovanni at
