FARMINGTON — A lecture series kicks off at 7 p.m. today at Aztec Ruins National Monument's visitor center.

All of the lectures are free.

This week, Kathryn Flynn will present "The New Deal: The Program in our New Mexico Parks and the Northwest Corner."

Flynn is the executive director of the Nation New Deal Preservation Association. She has authored and co-authored several books about the New Deal legacy.

The lecture series will continue on June 27 with local encaustic artist Michael Billie's lecture "Incorporating Culture and Nature into the Art-Making Process." Billie is an employee of The daily Times.
