FARMINGTON — The U.S. District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday that a 33-year-old Shiprock woman accused of helping her brother burn a house down has been sentenced to 15 months in federal prison.
Christina Thompson and her twin brother, Dan Thompson, were arrested in October 2013 on suspicion of setting fire to a rental unit at the Navajo Housing Authority in Ojo Amarillo in January 2013, according to a press release. Dan Thompson's girlfriend was in the apartment at the time, the release states, but was not harmed.
Christina Thompson pleaded guilty April 11 and acknowledged her role in the fire. She will serve two years of supervised release following her release from prison.
Dan Thompson was sentenced on June 24 to 35 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. Dan and Christina Thompson were also ordered to pay $57,415 in restitution to the Navajo Housing Authority.
