1 Tartan Terrors: The Celtic Group Tartan Terrors will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center, 510 W. Main St., featuring a two time world champion bagpiper, Highland dancers and comedic performers. Members of the Tartan Terrors have performed on four different continents, in some of the most prestigious festivals, Highland games and theatres of North America. 2 Bret Michaels concert: Bret Michaels will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at Inn of the Mountain Gods, 287 Carrizo Canyon Road, Mescalero. As the front man of Poison, he sold 25 million albums and had 15 top 40 hits including "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "Talk Dirty to Me" and "Unskinny Bop". 3 Car show: One Lite of Southern New Mexico will host a Low Rider Car Show fundraiser beginning at noon Saturday at Cruz Fernandez Park, 606 Pompa St. Move in will be from 7 a.m. to noon and trophies and awards will be given at 6 p.m. Other events include Battle of the DJs and live performances. 4 Photo workshops: The Southwest Photographic Symposium will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at San Andres High School in Mesilla. Photographers of all levels are invited to attend workshops on Basic Digital Photography, Color Theory, 3-D photography, sunset photography, wildflowers, portraits, children, pets, and printing as well as how to mount, matte and frame a photograph. 5 Museum Day Live: Permian Basin Petroleum Museum will open its doors free of charge Saturday as part of Smithsonian magazine's Museum Day Live! Museum Day Live! offers free admission to visitors presenting a Museum Day Live! ticket at a participating museum or cultural institution. Download at smithsonian.com/museumday.
