No. 15 Bloomfield committed six errors and gave up six runs to No. 2 Artesia in the first game in a best-of-three series to open the 4A baseball state tournament.

Artesia beat Bloomfield 6-0, but Bloomfield's pitchers gave up only two earned runs.

Trevor Eulenbach threw a no-hitter for Artesia. It was the second time this season Bloomfield has been no-hit.

"Artesia is a good team. Best case scenario for us is we lose 2-0 in this game, but with errors and not swinging the bats we lost 6-0," said Bloomfield head coach Frank DeHoyos. "When your pitcher gives you ground balls, you have to pick it up and throw it across to get the easy outs."

Clay Payne took the loss for Bloomfield in five innings of work.
