The Piedra Vista football team extended its unbeaten streak to four games with a 48-20 victory over Santa Fe on Friday.

Quarterback Isaiah Valdez led the Panthers' attack, going 9-14 through the air with 221 yards and three touchdowns all in the first half.

"It was a pretty good game for us. We were on key for what we wanted to do," said PV assistant coach Kevin Werth.

Beau Clafton added 102 yards rushing on just two carries in the first half, one going for a long touchdown.

"Clafton had a monster night. The first team had a strong showing," Werth said. "Other than one breakdown on defense, everything went pretty well."

Next up for the Panthers will be Moriarty at home on Saturday.

"It's going to be tough," Werth said. "It's always a battle with Moriarty. Last year, they flat out whooped us, but other than that it's always been a battle and we're planning on it being that way again."
